Erke Roosen is a versatile and accomplished dance artist based in New York. With a rich background in both classical and contemporary dance, Erke is currently working as a performing artist with Depth Dance and Urban Tribe. Her artistic journey has taken her across various prestigious platforms, showcasing her talent and dedication to the art form.
Having danced with renowned companies such as Netherlands Dance Theater 2 and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, Erke has graced stages nationally and internationally, performing choreographies by esteemed artists like Ohad Naharin, Alexander Ekman, Sidra Bell, Igal Perry and Brian Arias. Her training at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands, under the guidance of Christopher Powney and Wim Broeckx, equipped her with a solid classical foundation in dance. Complemented by her studies at the Peridance Center in New York where she studied under teachers such as Francesca Harper, Max Stone, Kristin Sudeikis and Mathew James.
Erke's portfolio extends beyond traditional dance performances, as she has been involved in various commercial and non-commercial projects. From international touring productions like "Juliette" with Herman van Veen to appearances in MTV's "Say it in Song" episode as well as for NYFW for Rochambeau and dance films like "Saltwater" with Abanar Dance Company, Erke has demonstrated her versatility and adaptability as a performer.
In addition to her roles as a professional dancer and Teaching Artist for the nonprofit organization Notes in Motion, Erke Roosen demonstrates her commitment to education and community engagement by serving as a Site Director for the after-school program at Star Academy and The Neighborhood School. In this capacity, Erke takes on a leadership role, overseeing the organization and implementation of after-school activities of the after school program.Erke's dedication to serving as a Site Director underscores her passion for making a positive impact on young minds and contributing to the holistic development of students beyond the confines of the classroom.
